Maggie Gresson


Executive Director


Maggie commenced employment with Artists Alliance in February 1999. Maggie has a Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree from Auckland University of Technology and has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand, most recently as a member of 'Jersey' exhibition group. She has also had many years experience in publishing and arts management. Maggie has been a member of Artists Alliance since 1993.

Branwen Lorigan


Education Programmes Manager

Branwen has ten years teaching experience in private, public and community sectors in the UK and New Zealand. She has a B.A Honours and Post Graduate Diploma in Education, Diplomas in Art Management and Visual Arts. She has worked in the Arts and Cultural Management sector for the last 7 years both in UK and New Zealand. As Education Programmes Manager for Artists Alliance, Branwen works with all sectors of the community pertaining to Education and Visual Arts in particular with primary and high schools, tertiary Art departments and community education projects.

Amberleigh McConnell


Administrator

Amberleigh McConnell is a practicing artist and has recently taken on the position of administrator for Artists Alliance. After studying at Victoria University and Elam School of Fine Arts, Amberleigh went on to manage a local gallery for several years, then worked as an executive assistant for an art consultant before taking up her current role at Artists Alliance.
 
 

Board Members



John Eaden
John Eaden has been a practicing artist for the past 35 years working in both painting and stone sculpture.
He has been involved in community arts for almost 30 years primarily in his role at Auckland City’s Artstation where he has been manager for the last 18 years.
His first involvement with arts organisations was through membership of the NZSSPA and he was a foundation member of Visual Artists Against Nuclear Arms. At various times he has been secretary, treasurer and chairman of Artists Alliance. Having recently re joined the Artists Alliance board he is able to bring arts management skills and a long-term perspective to the organisation. John joined the board in 2003 and is presently chair.

Margaret Malaghan
Margaret is a lawyer with experience in judicial decision making, most recently as a senior member of the Residence Review Board. She has had management experience as a company manager and management consultant in human resources, as well as business and governance experience as a board member of three private companies. Margaret’s interests are in both visual and performing arts and she was a founding member of the APO Guild. She has been a member of the board of Artists Alliance since 2006.

Mark Smith
Mark Smith is a photographer based in Auckland, he has worked mostly in the editorial field, working for magazines here and overseas. Published several books, and tutored at Unitec. He maintains a strong commitment to his personal work, and is represented by Artis Gallery in Parnell
