International guests Announced:
Rastko Ciric: Award-winning Serbian animator and illustrator who famously co-produced The Rubber Soul Project, a complex, multimedia presentation dedicated to the Beatles. The project, which took its name from the Beatles' 1965 single album, Rubber Soul, recorded unreleased and previously unavailable Beatles' songs, using old instruments and equipment to get the sound of the sixties. (August 12)
Mary Mattingly: New York-based photographer and sculptor who created the sculpture ‘Waterpod' a floating capsule designed to survive catastrophic events such as floods. Mattingly lived in the 30m x 10m x 12m pod with four other artists for six months when it was launched in New York a year ago. (August 9)
Helen Lennie: Sydney-based co-owner of the design house, Signature Prints, which holds the rights to distribute the Florence Broadhurst collection of bold hand-printed wallpapers and fabrics, which were popular with the rich and famous in the 1950s. Broadhurst was murdered in her Paddington, Sydney studio in 1977. (August 9)
Lesley Duxbury: Melbourne artist and Associate Professor at RMIT, Dr Lesley Duxbury, is no stranger to Hamilton, having judged the NZ Painting and Printmaking Award at the Waikato Society of Arts earlier this year. She is a photographer and printmaker with a particular interest in the natural environment and sustainability. (August 10th)
SuperNature: Shanghai-based multi-disciplinary design company founded in 2008 by Billy Wen Hao, Lin Yew Cheang and Yeoh Guan Hong. Best known for designing and creating interactive art installations in major cities. (August 10)
Martha Goes Green: Melbourne-based vegetarian cookbook authors, who plan to produce a cookbook during their workshop at Spark, based on the recipes of the workshop participants. (August 11)
